About Remodeling Innovations
The builder behind every plan.
Tom Pinhas came to construction from an unlikely place: corporate finance. After an accounting degree, a CPA, and years at PricewaterhouseCoopers and in wealth management, he traded spreadsheets for job sites in 2021 and never looked back.
That background is the difference. Tom runs every remodel with the budget discipline and communication of a financial professional, and the hands-on standards of a dedicated tradesman, eliminating the unpredictable costs and poor communication homeowners dread.
Our story
Precision in planning, craftsmanship in execution.
Every durable structure needs a reliable foundation. For Cima Renovations and Construction, that foundation was built on an unconventional path rooted in precision, rigorous scheduling, and financial accountability.
From corporate finance
Tom began in corporate finance, earning an accounting degree in 2016 and a position at PricewaterhouseCoopers. In the demanding environment of a "Big Four" firm, he spent months working 18-hour days, often from 8:00 AM until past 2:00 AM, while studying to earn his CPA license. He later moved into tax and wealth management in Brentwood, California, mastering strict budget oversight, project management, and protective asset management.
A deliberate change
Finance sharpened his analytical edge, but it wasn't the right long-term fit for his character or his vision. In 2021, expecting a child with his wife, Tom aligned his career with his values: to build something tangible, work collaboratively, and create spaces that leave a lasting footprint. To learn the trades thoroughly, he joined his uncle's established construction company, and on active job sites discovered the human side of contracting, along with the real weight of responsibility it carries.
Earning the license
Believing that real growth means working beyond a family business, he set out independently to manage residential remodels across the open market. He scaled step by step, from the tight tolerances of small bathrooms and powder rooms to whole-house renovations, structural additions, and Accessory Dwelling Units. With years of field experience backed by a strong business background, he earned California State General Contractor's License No. 1155767 and established Cima Renovations and Construction.
Business acumen meets clean craftsmanship
Today, Cima bridges modern professional standards and traditional trade execution. We have eliminated the pain points homeowners face, unpredictable budgeting and poor communication, by bringing elite business management, advanced tools, and strict organization to every project. We couple that systematic approach with a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, building with natural raw materials like wood, stone, and metal. We build with the clarity of an analyst and the dedication of a professional tradesman.
Our philosophy
The half you see, and the half you don't.
A custom remodel is an investment in your legacy. We prioritize the life of your home, minimizing the long-term cost of cutting corners, and making the hidden substructure as sound as the finish on top of it.
Structure & resource, balanced
We see residential building as a balance between structure and resource: high-grade wood, stone, and metal, deployed where they'll do the most good for decades.
Plan-first, permit-ready
No guesswork. Every kitchen, bath, and extension is built from airtight structural plans, so municipal inspections pass without a hitch.
Transparent from day one
Clear scope, honest timelines, and open communication, so you always know what's happening and why.
Mission & vision
Setting the California standard for renovations.
Our Mission
To deliver an exceptional residential building experience by uniting natural materials with precise engineering, permitting, and timelines.
Our Vision
That every kitchen, bathroom, and structural addition we build stands as a testament to durability and design.
